Hey,

Lately I've been heavily into first-person shooters. However, a couple of weeks ago, I got urges to revisit the Infinity Engine. I'd lent BG2 to a friend, so instead I pulled IWD out of the draw, and installed it.

The first problem occured when, after successfully installing Discs 1/2 and 2/2, I moved onto HoW. For some reason, my computer insisted that HoW was already installed, and wouldn't let me do anything about it. I tried to 'uninstall' whatever traces of HoW remained from the last time I'd played it so that the computer would fail to find any references to HoW and therefore install it. That didn't work.

I created a party and played the game anyway, and, lo and behold, the HoW area of the game was inaccessible.

So I'm thinking of manually copying each individual file from the HoW disc onto my computer. However, I do not know how the files/folders should be structured/where to put them in order for the game to run.

Any ideas?

Instead of using autorun, explore your HoW CD (right click on cd icon and choose explore) and then instead of running the autorun file find a file which is called setup.exe and run that.

Alternatively, click start, then run, then type x:\setup.exe but substitute x for your cd drive letter.

Problem should be solved. Just let me know please if it worked.
