i just bought Icewind Dale Ultimate Collection and was wondering if i had to install any patches for icewind dale 1 (& expansion) and 2 to be upto date,

No not for 1, I am not sure about 2 I made that mistake and had many problems in the beginning. I had to delete and reinstall to correct them. There is a patch for HOW. Also install The ToTLM it is a free download.

How gives you much better resolution and fixes some bugs as well as gives you some new items.

I haven't tried to install 2 yet as I just started HOW.

im downloading the 72MB ToTLM right now, will that have the latest patch included or will i have to get that sepperate?

The TotLM download has the final patch for IWD 1 included in it. One stop shopping.

Just for easy reference (if you don't know already), installation order is:

IWD (basic game)
HoW (included in IWD UC)
TotLM (free download)

You might want to try my Icewind Dale 1 Tweak Pack too, available from http://www.gibberlings3.net/daletweak/index.html [img]smile.gif[/img]

Install that after TotL.
