I've started the game countless times, but never gotten very far in it... hopefully this time will be different :)

Now to the questions:
1) Imoen (i think) can't wear anything above leather, correct? Should I spend the money and get the Leather Armor +1 in Thunderhammer Smithy, or will a better suit show up?

2) Where do I sell the bandit scalps?

3) If I dismiss a NPC, will they stay where I dismiss them or will they wander off? Can I rehire them?

4) Can I Dualclass more than once? Say my fighter goes to a thief then to a mage... or some such.

5) I have Tales of SC. Is there any way to make it not ask for the Tales CD on startup? Right now when I start the game it asks for cd 6 (Tales), but I'm playing on cd 2 in the game... I can deal with this, but it's just an annoyance having to switch cds every time I start the game.

6) Who/where is the first mage NPC you come across in the game (who wants to join you)?

7) Is there any way to tell how many uses a wand has left? As far as I know it doesn't say on the info pop-up.

8) What's the deal with the chapters? Do they matter? I'm still in chapter one, do I have to finish all the chapter one places before going to chapter two in order to keep the story correct? Or can I go to Nashkel without messing up the story line?

9) How do you raise primary stats?

10) How do you pickpocket?

That's all for now. :)
Thanks.

OK - lets see

1 - Yes, you will find better armors, so save your money. (for the Shadow-armor at at same place)

2 - in the Jovial Juggler Inn in Beregost there will be a Flaming Fist officer later in the game. She will buy then for 50gp each.

3 - most will stay, but some of them will leave. Yes, you can rehire them, but the won't have earned any xp in the meantime.

4 - No

5 - not that I'm aware of.

6 - Xzar (with Montaron) on the first map after leaving Candlekeep.

7 - No, that feature wasn't incorperated into BG1. (Don't worry - just use them)

8 - Chapters are just there to split the storyline up - you can go to Nashkel as soon as you want.

9 - At various places you'll find/aquire Tomes that raises STATs by 1. There are one of each, except WIS where you can get 3 Tomes.

10 - click the 'thieving' icon and drag the cursor over the target.

Have fun

actually there is a way to vaguely tell how many charges a wand as. When you are talking to a merchant, try to have all your wands in 1 persons inventory and the 1 that is the most expensive has more charges.

A full wand will have twenty charges.

SixOfSpades 08-05-2002 03:36 PM

More important than how many charges a Wand has left is how to recharge it: Sell it, buy it back, and it's fully recharged. Boo-ya.

Other places to sell your scalps: Feldepost's Inn, and High Hedge. The Flaming Fist officer in the Jovial Juggler will pay more for them, but she won't be there for the whole game.

If you kick out a party member that has been complaining about the Party's Reputation, they will walk off and be gone forever. If you boot an NPC that is happy or neutral about the way you've been running the party, they will stay put & you can go get them again later.

You can only pickpocket neutral creatures--kind of odd: You cast Sleep on an enemy, he falls to the ground unconscious...and you still can't pickpocket him. Me, I'd grab the weapon out of his hands, wouldn't you? If you try to Pickpocket people with less than 100% invested in the skill, you're asking for trouble--and officers of the law are even more sensitive than your average Joe.

True enough, Six. If you put an enemy to sleep you should be permited to strip em bare and shove a blade through 'em. If you think about if they're affect by a magically induced sleep they shouldn't awaken untill they hit the 9th hell.
