I have only explored the sewers once or twice during all of my various campaigns. Mainly because I hate the narrow passage ways and all the Carrion Crawlers and Phase Spiders that you run into. Now I was getting a little bored with all the same-old same-old that happens above ground in the city. So decided to give the sewers another try. I was near the Flaming Fist HQ when decided to plunge down. Well, low and behold I ran smack into a fella (actually a blob of slime) named 'Schlumpsha the Sewer King', along with his goonies. Now I'm guessing that he's a very influential and infamous member of the underground society, for two reasons. First, he calls himself "the Sewer King", and lastly, he knew ALOT about me and my background.
Now I guess I would like to know if this Blob (which I have killed), is the source of all the mysterious deaths that Scar is worrying about? Or do I need to continue hunting for the real culprit(s)? |
SPOILER
* * * * * * * * * * * * I can't remember that well, but I think the murders are caused by a man-orc, who treats the carrion crawlers as pets. You'll know when you find him, beacuse you'll see bodies littered everywhere. |
spoiler
- - - - - - - - - It is an ogre-mage who is responsible - the easiest way to find him is to go down into the sewers through the entry right behind Sorcerous Sundries. Remember to get the ruby ring for scar. |
Spoiler
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Believe it or not, Scar actually DID advise you to start your search in the east sector of the city; thereby, making the culprit of the crimes almost impossible to miss. And yes, it is an Ogre Mage. P.S. Anyone ever actually have trouble with Ogre-mages at this point in the game, or were you, like me, remembering harder fights you've had with a pack of gibberlings? |
Scar said that the tracks leading into the sewer openings suggested "some kind of many-legged creature." And, of course, Mustard Jellies don't have legs, even if they are Sewer Kings.
- - - - - - - - - - The Ogre-Mage was a doddle, but by that stage of the game, what isn't? |
POSSIBLE SPOILER
- - - - - - - - - - - - Six, true, I still remember when I was first attacked by golems, in BG2, in Irenicus's Dungeon in Athkatla. I almost had a heartattack untill I saw how my party completely tore them up. |
Thanks everyone.
However, I'm still a little flabergasted as to why this "Sewer King" knew so much about my PC's past and future. Is he an element of a separate quest that I have yet to discover? Or is he just another part of the woodwork within this game? Also, I haven't found this Quenash lady yet who supposedly holds this...(Spoiler) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ... Cloak of Balduran. Now I understand that she is a lady of ill-repute, so it would make good sense to look for her at night. But, what I really want to know is whether she is above ground or below? Nothing more, nothing less. I just want to know if she is above or below. Thanks again. |
Quenesh lady is below ground and you can reach her either through the sewers, the blushing mermaid or the Iron Throne basement

Schlumpsha's origins are never revealed.....Perhaps he was a psionic or a Diviner that was slowly polymophed into a Mustard Jelly. He seems happy with the result, I sure wouldn't be.
|
Schlumpsa could also be a mage's left over desert gone bad, but then again who knows.
