I keep reading about different... I dunno... patches? or something that people download to make the games better... howeverm I dont know where to fidn these so-called "patches" (by me anyways.) If someone could post a link or something I'd be ever so grateful, and, if a description of the patch isnt on the site, maybe a few defining words.

Just some background, there are patches out for the standalone game of Ice Wind Dale. But, the follow-up to IWD, Heart of Winter, has built in patches. The HoW gamers complained though, when the game came out initially, that it was to short, and the producers of the IWD series, Black Isle Studios, then brought a seemless add-on to HoW, called Trials of the Luremaster. This final add-on can be downloaded for free and is about 76 MB in size. ToTL has the final patches released by BIS for the IWD series. If you therefore install, HoW and then ToTL after that (sequence is important!) you'll have all the patches there are.

Dundee or somebody....shouldnt you make a sticky thread on this part of the Forum for IWD patches? Unless they are listed somewhere else on the website....its just that this seems like a common question!
