Does anybody know if you can have a personalized voice in the game?
|
Yes it is possible. Again, take a look at the manual!! Pages 22/23...
If you want to make your own, the files must be 22Khz, 16bit, Mono, .wav files - you have to put them in a new folder in the Sounds folder of your Icewind Dale install. The manual will tell you what filenames to give them (for example - newchar01.wav for morale failure 1, newchar02.wav for morale failure 2, newchar03.wav for battlecry 1 etc etc). If you are not making your own (ie - downloading sample packs off the web), you just extract them into the Sounds folder in the Icewind Dale install folder. Here are some that I found! Also some to be found at Havak's Portraits and Sounds.

Yes, I've tried them, I still have the Xena sound sets saved on my PC. But usually I wind up turning most of the character sounds off, or taking off my headphones anyway. Not because the soundsets aren't good, just because I don't like all that noise.
I might like my own soundsets better, but that's way more work than I want to do. I'd rather be playing the game. |
