There are a lot of people reporting corrupted save games recently. ONE way to check on this is as follows.

Open Explorer
Go to the mpsaves folder
Open the save game folder in question
Use a photoviewer to view all of the BMP files in that folder

If the bmp files do NOT open or you get an empty screen, that saved game is corrupted - delete that folder.
