I've been looking for a good RPG to play, and am wondering about Icewind Dale. Is it good? I've played BG1 and 2, and NWN. Can it be compared to BG1? Where can I get it? What's it like? Huh? Geez, I'm confusing myself already.......

I recommend trying to get it with the expansion as the expansion can be hard to get:

IWD2 is out as well but IWD you could probaly get alot cheeper. I will not be able to play IWD2 unless I get a new computer but you should be able to if you have NWN.

We should advise you Willard, that if you like the look of IWD, and you are seriously considering a purchase, that you might want to pick up a copy that has 'Heart of Winter' with it too. The expansion is currently difficult to locate outside of a purchase with the original game, and there is no point buying it twice if you change your mind and want it as well.

The expansion is well worth getting, as the previous post details, so give it a look and see what you think.

Yes Willard, get IWD. But like the others stated, get Heart of Winter at the same time. Get them both, install them, create your party and start dungeon trolling. You won't be sorry. :D

I think I'm getting this game with the expansion(and Icewind Dale II) for a present at christmas so I take it by what your saying I should be looking forward to it? I like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 so I take it this game is as good?
