Is there any time in IWD i can wield double weapons and if so do i need any special abilities. Also what does the one star beside my name mean and how do i get a pic? Thank you

You can't have dual weapons in IWD.

The star will go away and you'll get a pic if you post some more, but be warned, this is not an incentive to go spammin'.

Yeah IWD1 dosen't allow it as this feature only came to the infinity engine games in Baldurs Gate 2 and now IWD2 has it also :D

why bother using two weapons at a time when you can use shield and a sword at the same time.

A ranger that uses a one-handed sword without a shield gets +1 attack/round - that is as close as you get. (In the manuak is it called 'dual-weapon-usage')

It actually applies to all one handed weapons that a ranger can use, not just swords.
