Ok, I have like a thousand books, not really but more than I would prefer to carry w/ just 3 characters. Which of these books do I need to keep while in Dragon's Eye. I think I'm on level 5. I can give a list of the books that I have if that would help. Spoilers are welcomed
|
Most of them are just background and atmosphere material. I can't think of any off of the top of my head that you actually need. If you go into the library room that is locked and look at the contents, you can chanllenge the guy you first meet and question his identity as a priest of the light. (I think you earn something like 24,000XP for it.) Of course, that means a fight to the NPCs hold up in the cell.
PM me a list if you like, and I'll have a look. |
Vassago,
I think Lord Brass is right. In any case, to lighten your load, sell all your books to the shopkeeper (forgot his name: It's been 6 months REAL time since I visited or the town [forgot that name, too]. If there is anything important for you to have later in the game, it will remain in his stock: just go back and buy it.) |
Missed on questioning the guy about his true identity. Oh well. I still had fun slaying all of them Here is my current collection of books that I have:
Presio's War Journal Great Pottery of Lurien History of the North (1-3) Tending Ivy Secret Societies The Folly of Fury PHilosophy of Kara-Tur On Non-Violence Erevvain's Journal Animals Are Your Friends and NobleNick, I know the guy that you are referring to. I sold him some books that I found in the Temple of the Lost God(?). It just really sucks carrying around 12 books between 3 characters. |
You don't need any of them - although you might want to read the 'Secret-Societies' one. The info can be useful later.
|
I think i'm right in saying that you found these in the libary by the temple? Well if that's so then put them back on the shelves as when you've finished with this bit of the game you'll be walking past the liabery again anyway. I've took them back to Kuldahar to sell and you get the best prices in the tower on the western side. The prices as far as i can remember are between 20 and 45 GP.

I sold them to Garth(?). He sells the bard stuff. I also, I came into possession of several skulls and a bottle of wine. I sold the skulls, but for some odd reason, decided to keep the wine. I don't know, maybe my party will get thristy later. Unless someone has a better idea...
|
The wine is useless........but i'd have to wait for the others to confirm that for me

IIRC there is only one (possibly two) places that the wine might, and I only say might, be useful. So, no - sell the stuff or drink it. Just make sure your characters don't get inebriated whilst on duty. :D
Unless anybody knows any differently? |
Yep, the wine is pretty useless unless you're drinking some at a tavern to hear some gossip. However, I think you can get a healing wine (elven I think), so look out for that.
Definitely sell the ivy tending, pottery, non-violence and folly of furies book. MAke sure to read the histories, because they give you background (but they also sell well....) - I'm not too sure about Erevain's journal - maybe someone will want to read it later? |
