I have a problem getting my ranger to move up in experience. Currently he is level 10, and I have just over 900,000 XP. I just killed Seth and am working on the greater mummies in Wyrm's Tooth.
When I try to level up, i get an error message and the game crashes.I have tried going back to the last save before i gained XP (it was my autosave) and it still won't work. DaleKeeper wouldnt help either. I recently installed the patch (1.0.6) and do not have HOW. What are my options?

Now on to the problem. Bad news im afraid - this is apparently due to a corrupt character file. Go here :

And skip the first four posts (Which are from ages back and irrelevant), youll find someone called ace_logan who has the same problem. The recommended solution according to azred is to dalekeep yourself an identical character and import him to replace your existing one. Youll need Dalekeeper:

Its a savegame / character file editor that is very useful for this situation. You can also cheat with it if you want.

redneckcub, did you install any other modifications such as XP cap removers or custom-made items, spells, pictures, or sound-sets? These could also be part of the problem.

hmmmm.....redneckcub, could you export your character and send the export file to me? i'd like to 1) take a look at it and 2) try to level the character on my version of IWD.
