Man this is just too weird.I was playing my game and i was being attacked in a upstairs room. And the guy iw as fighting had just casted a spell right when I went back down stairs. And then I just died.I just kicked the bucket, keeled over, croaked. Is it possible for spells to go down stairs?hmmmmmmmmmmmm

seems that way

i always get hit even though i have boots of speed and a poten of speed and running literally in circles around the enemy.....and still get hit

guess that is why they call it "majic"

Once you are the target of a spell, it follows you anywhere you go, unless you manage to leave that entire area. The spell projectile will even go through walls to reach you.

dragonwolf 04-18-2002 10:30 PM

it seems that is so darnit all that speed and nothing more to block it

SomeGuy 04-19-2002 04:10 PM

Some spells will have lingering effects for several rounds after they hit you. What was the particular spell that got you?

SomeGuy 04-19-2002 04:56 PM

The spell was a maic missle spell i think. The spell never actullay hit me though. And when did u become a Red Wizard of thay Micah?

Micah Foehammer 04-19-2002 06:24 PM

Red Wizard of Thay at post #750, Emerald Dragon at #999 lol

Hmmm, magic missiles usually DON'T miss unless you have a Shield spell, globe of invulernability, or anti-magic shell active. In fact, they actually behave like they have radar lock on you! Twisting around walls etc. to track you down. My guess is that you might not have seem the damage (did you have combat feedback turned off by any chance?).
