If you are a fighter/mage and you get Drizzt's armor can you use it and still cast spells
|
No. In theory the armor should count as Elven chain mail and thus enable mage spells to be cast while wearing it, but for some reason, probably balance issues, it does not function that way in BG. Same goes for Fighter/Thieves and their thieving skills.
|
Are u sure? because i played with a fighter/thief once and I could use thieving skills
I have never played Baldurs gate with a fighter/mage though |
actually, if i remember correctly, you cant use ranger abilities with it on either. i remember saying something like, "Drizzt can do it, and i cant?! im stronger than him, just as fast, and am the same class, and i cant use his armor like he can?!" yeah, it pissed me off.

Chain mail is a useless type of armour, if you ask me. It's too heavy to allow rangers to use their stealth ability and does not allow bards or fighter/mages to cast spells, yet it is too light and vulnerable to offer warriors really good protection. I think they could've given Drizzt better armour, really.

well, that IS the armor that Drizzt actually has. it is +4 MITHRIL chainmail, so it is exedeingly strong and light. my bladesinger in P&P has elven chainmail+3, and he is SWEET!!!
|
Actually, Rangers CAN Stealth in it. If you couldn't, it must be some weird beta-version of the game.
Drizzt's armor DOES allow: Stealth Find Traps Disarm Traps Pick Pockets Pick Locks Priest spellcasting Drizzt's armor does NOT allow: Wizard spellcasting |

You are correct, Arledrian: Drizzt's Mail is the only armor heavier than Studded Leather (or Hide, if you have ToSC) that allows Rangers and Fighter/Thieves to Stealth. I believe Bards can Pick Pockets in normal Chain, but Fighter/Thieves cannot.
