I don't know why, but my level 8 Ranger can't level up to level 9. Whenever I go to level up I get a message saying "An Assertion failed in ObjCreature.cpp at line number 15890," and boots me out of the game. I've tried every possible variation imaginable and I'm really getting frustrated. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it?

I have no idea what caused this, maybe a corrupted game file or so. A possible fix might be to uninstall the game, and then install it again. You savegame folders will stay on your hard drive when you uninstall, so you can get right back to your old game. Not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try IMO.

I'll try it. Thanks for your help though. Could you answer one more question? What the heck does IMO or HIMO as I've also seen mean? I'm new to this forum so I'm not in the loop on what a lot of things mean.

You might check to make sure that you haven't installed an IWd patch over HOW or a HOW patch over ToL. A lot of the busted dialogue strings and assertion errors seem to originate from patches installed out of sequence. Just something to check. [img]smile.gif[/img]
