How does a poor thieving soul break into this bugger? almost every time I visit this shop in Kuldahar, my thief tries to get into it; but to no avail...*sob*...*sniff*....

This is a reward for saving the smithys son in a later quest. There is an enchanted hammer in it vs. giant kin (I think).

Actually, its a magical hammer vs. golems.

Really? My Theif Broke Straight Into It!! About 80% On Open Locks. If That Don't Work, Try And Force It Open, And If That Don't Work, Use The Knock Spell, I Can't Remember Where I Got The Scroll, But it Was early On. The Hammer Is Conlans Hammer, A Warhammer +1, +4 Versus Iron Golems

Hmm I believe my normal untrained Theif broke into it. And the Hammer is really not very needed because well Golems will come much later and you dont really need to take up space now do ye? :D .

No, heh, heh, but I will be training up a melee guy on warhammer while I wait for a quest or for my thief to get his skills up.

The hammer has the special ability to be able to hit anything that requires a magical weapon to hit.

But I must admit, I hardly used it at all from the mid-game onwards.
