In the room with a few tombs on each side (dorns deep) how many times have you got to kill the lich. I've killed him, went out and killed him again about 20 times and those doors at the end still won't open. Is this supposed to happen or is my game just screwed up?

probably screwed up, try the iwd patch perhaphs.... BUT: i don't remember much of IWD , since ive been playing BG2 for the last month..... so i might be wrong

If i am not mistaken you need a key and i don`t think your game is screwed the Lich regenerates himself .

try walkthrough for some idea where the key is

oops not a key but a gem and u need to put it into the mantle near one of the tombs , it`s a specific gem that is found in one of those tombs , furthermore you must not disarm the mantle where the gem goes (if you use your thief it shows that it is a trap , i think the mantle is 3rd door on right

hmmmm i didnt think regenerating was possible in IWD

The lich can't be killed by normal (as in hack n' slash) means, he'll only regenerate. Hint- iirc there's a mention somewhere in the tomb area where you first encounter him on how he can be permanently done in.

You need to find his phylactery, and bring it into a particular tomb in the last part of Dorn's Deep just before you exit to Wyrm's Tooth (the one with the locked door).

The doors at the back of the anteroom where you FIRST meet the lich also require a key to be opened. Check in the sarcophagi on the left hand side of this room for this key. But be quick! The lich will continue to regenerate himself until his phylactery is destroyed as Hayashi mentioned before.

Side comment: OF COURSE regeneration is possible in IWD. Why else would they put in potions of regeneration! [img]smile.gif[/img]
