what is a fallen character?
How does it become fallen?

A fallen character refers to either a paladin or ranger who are required to maintain a "good" alignment and fails to do so.

In game terms, it occurs when the party's reputation drops VERY low as a result of committing evil acts (killing innocent people, getting caught stealing, etc.).
