I'm only in Act 4 and I have over 100K gold. Is it just me or is gold pretty much worthless. I found better weapons then the shopkeeper in Kur... (whatever you call it) is selling. Should I keep collecting (will it be useful later?) or should I just not worry about it?

There are some nice spells and magical items to buy in various places within IWD that you haven't run across yet, and a lot of them are available only in one location.

And there are some awesome magical items and spells that are available only at shops in the HOW expansion .....

In general, you should end up with something on the order of 300,000 to 400,000 gp by the time you enter HOW, unless you are a complete packrat .... ;)
