Has anyone noticed that if you press the 'u' key, the status portraits of your characters disappear from the screen, giving you more map to see, and pressing 'u' again brings them back? I've never seen this mentioned in any of the manuals. While you don't want the portraits off all the time, it is fun to see the screen practically filled with map. Esp if you have HOW installed. Does anybody know of any other hidden commands?

THats like in BGII, you can press a button to do that. In HOW, press ctrl to show all items, doors, and chests.

Ehh, actually its the ALT key in HOW to highlight stuff. Its CTRL in BGII.

You can alos press 'Y' to hide/unhide the left column where all the icons for inventory, character record, etc, and 'H' to hide/unhide all game interfaces. If 'H' is selected, pausing the game will show all the panels and unpausing it wil hide the panels again.

There not hidden.

If you run "config.exe" in your icewind dale directory, you can see what all the commands are maped too. And you can change it.
