I'm in the giant cave's near wyrm's tooth.Not having any trouble defeating giants per say,but every time that I kill one particular giant(not the main bad guy),my computer kicks out of the game.I've rebooted ,shut down,changed every setting(I think),but it still keeps locking up and jumping back to windows.It is getting just a little fustrating.
If I didn't like to play these games so much I would have taken this computer out and unceremoniously shot it by now.still might.

There could be a scripting error, though I'm not one to figure out these things. A puzzler indeed, you might have to start over, or you can just use cheats to summon in the badge you need.

Sounds like a corrupt file from the install.
Try reinstalling, see if that fixes it.
