What am I supposed to do with the broken armour?
I sold it to the blacksmith in Kuldahar but I got so much for it I don't know if it really was useless.

Nope, I've carried it all through the game, and no-one has any interest in doing anything but buy it. No Cromwell, or the guy in BGI in Beregost.
