I am currently playing IWD and I have a 4 day weekend ahead of me and I plan on finishing it! Anyway, I have not played BG or BG2 yet and I was wondering if I should start with BG or can I jump right into BG2? Will I be missing out on anything by starting with BG2?

All you'll miss out is the main plot behind BG, and your heritage. You'll also miss out on the characters, cities, and your past history. Nothing really bad. Yeah, i do have my own 4 day vaction. I live in the US too.

You will not miss out tremendously if you just start from BG2 and play that and ToB.

However, I cannot think of anything more satisfying and completely badass (ESPECIALLY if you've never played the BG series before) than starting a character in BG and playing him through Tales of the Sword Coast, then importing him/her into BG2 and continuing. This will give you the ultimate role-playing satisfaction, and it is well worth it, my friend.

If you have the money and the time: start with BG, do the expansion if you can, and then move that character to BG2 and its expansion.

If you have either the money or the time: Just start with BG2 and then do the expansion.

If you have neither: Eeeehmmm... you can always play IWD again!!! [img]tongue.gif[/img]
