Hi, i'm a newbie to the game and sure would love some help. So thanx in advance
I got a problem with my ranger, she's suppose to be able to use two weapons, but she can't use 2 morning stars+1, anyone know how to solve? |
Welcome, Mr.Krackpot, LoL, very funny name. Anyway, only in SoA, and ToB, I'm aware of dual weapons. You could have mistaken that. Never happened with my rangers. But don't dispair, rangers are still very good.

Yeah, it's really a damn shame they didn't implement dual-wielding in Icewind Dale. I would have very much enjoyed that, and it would add even further variety to the kind of characters you could make and the sweetass combination of weapons they could wield. I think this desire of mine will sink in even more as i get farther through the game and see all the weapons available, because i'm still playing the game through for my first time.

Dual weapon usage is a "feature" in IWD, but lame compared to Shadows of Amn; it simply means if your ranger equips a small or large sword, he gets an extra attack each round, assuming he doesn't have a shield in the other hand.
SoA and ToB are much better in this regard- they have the animation and actual implementation of dual weaps. |
One very cool aspect to the Ranger class in IWD that is different from BG2, though, is the ranger's tracking ability.
in IWD, you get an in depth descriptions of a good variety of creatures, which directions they've come from, and what not. It's just a lot cooler than the BG2 description which just says "you find signs of dragons in the area" or something like that. I was impressed with the IWD tracking description when I happened to use it, and expecting a more concise description. |
