My weapons are useless against this fellow.

Hmm...that's kind of an amalgam of words there. do you mean a wraith or a wight?

well, either way, have your fighters with the best AC (and good HP as well) go in...i think you might need +1 or +2 weapons to hit undead of that kind. just start smashing em, and have your mage(s) cast a barrage of offensive spells. should be easy enough...i'm pretty sure regular arrows are useless though.

Its a wight and you'll have to equip any fighters with magic weapons to hit it. I did it once with a +1 dagger, and magic misile support from my mage. It was a great battle for me going with what I had. Its a beatable battle, good luck
