I never really subscribed to that whole "demon's are now called (add description)" that TSR came out with towards the end of 2AD&D.

So for those old boys out there, is Yxunomei is a Type 5 demon, and Balifhet a Type 6? If so, what's the new descriptive term for them now?

the current names of these type's of Demon's.

I believe that Yxunomei is a Marilith, a Tanar'ri.

Well, according to Neb, if Xyunomei is a Marilith, that does make her a Type 5. Good so far, as the description from MM1 checks out. I imagined that Balifhet was a Type 6, the bad boys of the "lesser" demon world, as he seemed to be tough enough for the job!
