When you are asked to steal the parts from the airship, and the main theif-leader guy makes the offer, he says that he might even have some magical weapons in store for you, depending on how good a job you do. Well, the best i've been able to do, is to have to butcher all of the girls to get the parts from them. is there any better way to do it? and another thing: what are the magical weapons that the main theif guy is talking about?

yes, you should equip your character with the best saving throws with the boots of speed and just run into the room and pick up the items. ********************SPOLIER***********************

in this case its better not to kill the girls, because when their father notices you in Ulgoth's beard he sends you to an island which is a pretty worthless quest. Now you might want to complete this quest just to do everything in the game, but not killing his daughters gives you the option to choose when you want to do it. If you kill the girls he forces you to do it, and i cant remember if you can even get into the Inn in Ulgoth's beard without him seeing you. There are some valuable items in there to buy.

You can access all the important parts (and people) of Ulgoth's Beard without being seen by Shandalar, provided you know where he is and avoid him. The quest he sends you on isn't that difficult, as long as you're tough enough; I suggest an average Level of 6 or so, and have a few Dispel Magics ready. There are Traps.

As for the Thieving business itself, just Roleplay it. If you're Lawful Good or Neutral, kill the Thieves on sight. If you're Neutral Good or anything Chaotic, send in a Stealthed Thief for a little burglary. If you're Evil, Backstab 'em all to hell--they're all Mages and worth some EXP, and one has a Necklace of Missiles (I think).

No matter which path you take, once the quest is completed, you will NOT get any magical weapons for it. Sorry. You get a nice chunk of EXP, though.

I just did this quest like two days ago. I had the option when I talked to The head theif honcho of asking for 1/2 payment up front, or doiong it to increase my standing within the guild.

I found the best way to get the items was to use my theif with the best stealth and shadow armour. Go inside and apply for the domestic position; you'll get it if you don't have a weapon in youir hand, and say anything but that you worked at the Duchal palace (as I remember). Anyway once the game loads on the top level hit pause then stealth your thief. You can get the stuf out of the desk with ease. Fade to black and take your leave.

Hmm
Just did this last night. I gave Imoen Algernon's Cloak (intention was to charm the three sisters) but it didn't quite work out.
In the end I just drank an invis potion and burgled the desk where the items were. Then hid in shadows and sneaked out of the level, with none the wiser.
