I'd heard of two minor quests in IWD that i've never confirmed; anyone else hear of these?

First; take the Dwarven Bone ring found in the severd hand (on a skeleton) to lower dorn and have the gnomish sculptor carve it into a replica of Marketh's ring?
Second; Take the rhino sheild to the hobbled gnome and he fits it with turquoise or otherwise enchants it? (I've never seen the items in the Infinity Explorer, so i dunno how likely these are)

I know that you can take the rhino shield to Nym the dark elf merchant in the Deep Gnome Camp in Lower Dorn's Deep and he can enhance the shield. I have not heard anything about having it enhanced by a hobbled gnome.
