First of all, you're not too late to jump on the bandwagon! I just bought it this past Tuesday. Besides, the official add-on, Heart of Winter, came out just recently (or so) AND now your can download from the net even further advetures called Luremaster. So this game is very much alive. Look at the posts here and over at the Black Isle Board and many are still playing and asking and giving advice.
I'd say it is the next logical step if you are waiting for The Ruins of Myth Drannor or Dungeon Siege or T.O.R.N. or Morrowind or Never Winter Nights, etc., to come out. Unlike the BG renditions this is not nearly as big, you have to create your entire party, it is basically linear, and though there is a plot shrouded in mystery it is not like BG. It is very much a hack & slash adventure. But it is still fun! The music is phenomenal. I bought it for $29.99 at Electronics Boutique and best Buy had it for $39.99. Guess where I bought my version? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
