Alot of people ask for opinions on parties and so i thought i would share my band of Desperate Monster slayers. Any comments, improvements or suggestions will be greatfully excepted!!

Human Fighter Large Swords/Warhammers
Dwarf Fighter Axes/Crossbows
Human Ranger Longbow/Long sword
Halfling Fighter/Thief Shortswords/Bows
Human Cleric Maces
Human Invoker Slings/Staffs

This party has some nice hack'n'Slash power as well as healing support. The Thief opens all the doors and removes pesky traps whilst the invoker casts Fireballs everywhere. The Dwarf lives for the Lonsome Road and the ranger recriuts the wildlife to help me out!!

You have 3 single-class fighter types in there, plus one multi-figher. I Thief-multi and one Cleric, one Mage multi That seems WAY to heavy on tanks to me, and WAY WAY to light on healers & mages.

Cleric (single class) needs support. Convert one of your fighters into a Fighter/Cleric Multi, so that you have a backup healer. You will NEED him/her! And I would suggest that your Thief be Mage/Thief multi, rather than Fighter/Thief

Just my opinion! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Very intresting on the party My party is alot like your's:

Human Male fighter- bows, axes, great sword, large sword.
human male ranger- bows, axes, flail, great sword.
Human Male Paladin-bows,flail,hammer,greatsword,large sword.
Elf Multi-class fighter/thief-halberds,spear,large sword,small sword
Elf Cleric Flail,mace,missle weapons
Elf Mage weapons who really cares magic, but the sling is what I use.

Looking at my party seem like I have a lot of tanks. But the way I play it suits me good for now. I find hack and slash for IWD works the best. But I will have to see what happens a little later on. I find the healing is all right with the cleric and paladin when the spells start up with him. Have the thief and the spell caster. And the long range weapons work well against other spell casters. Stops the spells before they even start.

Your party looks good to me. But that is just me. Have fun playin.

Cheers for the tips people, my party does tend to overrely on the old potions of healing.I much prefer to have high HP than low and lots of healers. Just for a laugh i tried out a party where everyone was either a Multi mage or a Multi Clerichttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif Cool or what. It took ages to level up but when FIREBALL comes out, Bang (OK i love Fireball)!! My next challenge is to use a Bard and find space for the Druid i normally never take!!

My current party seems to kick so ass-
Dwarven fighter-axes/crossbows
Human Fighter-great swords/bows
Elven Fighter-bows/great sword
Human Thief dueled to cleric at level 6-hammers/slings
Human Druid-scimitar/sling
Human Mage-sling/staff

good Lord (of alcohol)! no Cleric!? art thou nuts?

the rest of yous guys have good parties. 3 fighters, fighter/thief and a single class mage and a cleric. 3 fighters will mush things up, the mage is support anyways, and the cleric heals them. between melee and missle you got your encounters covered. in fact, my personal suggestion would be to drop one of the fighters and play with 5 characters. it allows you to level up faster, and if you find yourself really wanting a druid or a bard, you still have the option.

My current IWD/HoW party:

Thrasher, Male, Dwarf, Neutral Good, Fighter, L8, Axes/Hammers
Tharak, Male, Human, Lawful Good, Paladin, L8, Bows/Great Swords/Large Swords
Foster, Male, Human, Lawful Good, Ranger, L8, Bows & Large Swords
Klara, Female, Human, Chaotic Good, Thief, L9, Bow/missile/dagger/sword
Cy Wren, Male, Elf, Neutral Good, Mage/Thief, L9/10, Bow/missile/dagger/sword
An'Lith, Female, Elf, Neutral Good, Cleric, L9, Missile/Flail/Mace/Staff

Actually my characters are Klara, Cy Wren and An'Lith. I tend do go for the backup (support) staff... Weapon proficiencies are adequately diverse, I think... We fare well, in battle.

My party is just like most of the ones posted.

2 Fighters
1 Paladin
1 Cleric
1 Mage
1 Thief/Mage

The only big difference I see is that my Thief is a Mage instead of a fighter. This party has worked really well for me.

My only problem is that when I create my party I never know what weapons to specialize in. I never know what the best weapons are going to be.

mine is:

Human fighter
Human ranger
dwarf fighter/cleric
halfling fighter/thief
elf cleric/mage

yep, only 5 peoples... never needed more...

actually, I beat IWD with 4 (didn't use my ranger then) but I found that five works better for HOW

Lord of Alcohol 06-08-2001 10:55 AM
