Do I really need to have a 3D accelerator to play IWD? My PC has a 366MHz AMD-K6 processor, 128MB RAM, and a video card with 8MB of memory (AGP and 3D support). But I don't have an accelerator...

Has anyone played IWD without an accelerator???

Actually it works much faster without a 3D card. Turning on the 3D effects slowed the game down quite a bit for me. The graphics don't look much different either. (The spell effects do look better, but I'd rather have a playable game...http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I should think that you would just be frustrated at the poor quality of the action, IF it worked at all. I know that everybody likes things in perfection. I remember when everyone fussed at the little blinking cursor that I am looking at right now, because it hurt people's eyes to see it on the fritz.
I would suggest this: Can you borrow a copy from somewhere, and try it out before purchase? Then you will have the info first hand.

(Sorry, I was typing this before I read the previous thread...maybe his advise is better than mine, but you make the call.
