Does anyone know where the Wyvern Coran asks you to kill is?

Chris77Se 05-04-2002 03:23 AM

IIRC, the Wyverns are in a cave on the 3rd cloakwood area. The cave is in the northeastern part of this area, and there are some blood stains at the cave entrance. There are 2 wyverns and 3 baby wyverns.

And don't forget that after you've killed them, you can complete the quest by claiming the reward - whether you keep Coran in the party or not.

Oh and by the way, isn't it the 4th Cloakwood area.

thanx - does anyone know if you can say anything to Perdue about a 3-headed dog?

Sorcerer Alex 05-04-2002 11:13 AM

I don't quite know what you mean about the three-headed dog David, the idea is that you tell him that he means a gnoll - otherwise you wont get the quest which involves you killing a handful of gnolls to retrieve Perdue's stolen short sword.

I think you don't need to kill a specific wyvern for this quest, I believe all wyverns will do as long as you carry it's head to the temple.

What annoyed me about the wyvern quest was, long after I'd finished it, Coran kept reminding me that he had some wyverns to kill! DUH, pal, we did all that, short-term memory loss??? He never left my party because of it (In fact, I've never heard of him leaving anyone's party because of it), but he never stopped mentioning it every 3 days or so, either. What gives? Just other minor bug or something? Yes, I tried bringing in another head to get another reward, but no dice.

Yup it's a well-known bug, I had it myself too, and loads of other people I met on various message boards had it also. Fortunately it has no consequences whatsoever. As you said, he doesn't leave

Yes, that bug was annoying. Thank God Coran didn't leave my BG group- I found his archery and thieving skills invaluable late in the game.

Heheh. Well, it seems I'm the odd on out. I got BG: The Original Saga, and got Coran when I was in the Cloakwood. I took a fari while with Cloakwood, but Coran did leave my party. Very annoying. Also in that same game there was a map NW of Beregost that I think I killed some Wyverns on- and got rewards for their heads.
