Once I found the razorvine extract I went back to Bandoth with it, I had also procured various books from around the place too. However when I visited Bandoth I got no options in the dialogue to give him the extract. One option was about a body that had this diary or something, the other was something mentioning an evil everyone could feel in the cave. Either way I went he either attacked me or made a hasty excuse then beat it. After a couple of tries to take him down and failing because he got to the door before I could cut him off I surrounded him with the entire party before talking to him. The result was the same except this time Bandoth would take some piecing together, I have a feeling that this guy was meant to escape - does anyone kow if this is the case?

I'm having this problem too. I've got the razorwine in my inventory, but don't get any options to give it to Bandoth. Just a lot of crap.

Is there a workaround, or must one give this to him. In walkthrough it says you must give it to him in order to get a secret entrance to Lower Dorn.

Can't you get to lower dorn elsewise?

The first time my group, led by a Paladin met Bandoth he became hostile and I could never get him to accept the Razorvine extract so I eventually killed him but he had nothing special with him. Save before talking to him as the "wrong" response appears to cut off several dialogue options.

Note you don't really need his advice for the secret entrance to Ower Dorn if you are following the walk through.

I replayed the game but this time talked to him with a Bard before finding the Razorvine extract. When you return to him with it a dialogue option appears to give him the extract after that there is also an option appears to trade with him which is worth trying as he has various Conjure Elemental scrolls for sale.

Maybe you should get the quest before giving him the extract, but im not sure.

Anyway Im sure that if you find your way without his advice and later you go back to try to give him the extract, he wont take it (i mean that the dialogue option about it doesnt appear)

It should be okay to kill him. My friend just finished IWD yesterday after lunch, and he killed Bandoth the other night and we never really noticed any difference in the game.
