i am confuse which sword is better the long sword 1D8 or the bastard sword 2D4
thank |
2D4 = 2 x 1D4 = 2 - 8 points of damage
Try not to get confused. 2D4 does not mean 2 - 4. A bastard sword is certainly better than the long sword, that's why elves called it a bastard. |
however, remember that elves only get a +1 bonus for longswords, at least in the pen and paper game. haven't paid much attention to whether it holds in the game, as my current party has no fully elven characters.

I am not sure but I believe the bastard sword is a 2 handed sword. If so, your particular character may have an advantage using a "long sword" or a "great sword" depending on how much skill you put on these categories.
|
Nope, the bastard sword is a one-hander. The ranger advantage applies to the bastard sword! However, there are not as many bastard sword +3 or +4 or even +2 as there are long swords. It's a matter of preference, I guess.

thank guys!!!!

Something else worth paying attention to is the weapon speed. A bastard sword is a bit slower if i recall but a magical bonus can affect this. Cheers
|
ic thanks again

The Bastard Sword is considered a Great Sword, check the proficiency type.
