OK. another person with this problem, and yet nobody seems to have an answer for any of us - any ideas yet??? i kill the fake malavon and his golems and umber hulks. he dies. that's it.... no REAL malavon... no opening of the room so i can get out again... i even killed all the gnomes 'cause i was so desperate... nothing. no way out. no way to get the final badge i am missing. no way to finish the game... help please?

So you are saying that after you killed everything in the room the real malavon didnt show up. Very interesting.
Do you have the patched version of the game ?
Is Malavon the last badge you need ?
I killed Malavon last withou the patch and did not run into this problem.

So my suggestions are get the patch.
Try to kill the other badge holders first.

I do not know if this matters, but I think there is a "trigger" in the game to have the real Malavon to appear. I went into his room and looked in a couple of the chests and took an item or two. When I headed back towards the exit, the real Malavon appeared. He does alot of the portal stuff so he is kind of hard to keep track of.
