I recently finished SOA with a six player party (MultiC/R, Keldorn, Anomen, Nalia, Imoen, and although it is not exactly roleplaying I added Sarevok, mostly because I don't know how many times I'll actually play through so I might as well try him out). My levels seem pretty low. My C/R I think is 13/12, and Nalia and Imoen just leveled up to 17). Are these levels really low, and am I going to get my head handed to me. I just left Saradush. Gromnir wasn't that bad, although everyone and their brother is casting time stop, except for me obviously. Should I go to Watcher's Keep now and try to level up some, or is there a "better" time to go to Watcher's Keep. No spoilers please. Thanks

I usually go there right after Saradush. Without giving any spoilers you will find quite a few nice items there that will help through the next areas. And the xp is good too.

Your levels are fine.

As an experienced player, you'll probably find more ways to gain XP and be a little higher at that point, but don't sweat it.

There's a minimum XP for TOB, and you would be pumped up to it if you were too low.

Watchers Keep is best, your goign to get really frustrated with it though...just be patient and smart...personally i think you will need to level up and its going to take you a while to get through Watchers, just dont give up its your only option really

I may be wrong, but i think Nalia cant even cast time stop?? Does anyone know that for sure...i remeber last time i played i didnt think she could learn it

With ToB installed, I thought *everyone* could cast timestop eventually... Well, every mage I mean :D

I think the instruction manual says that Mages without an 18 INT can not cast level 9 spells. While this is an AD&D rule, it's not enforced in this game, and Nalia (and Jan, and Imoen) can all cast level 9 spells.

Without a mod, three classed characters (F/M/T, F/M/C) will hit the XP cap before learning any 9th level spells though.

I think that was my problem, which is weird...Nalia never got to cast level 9 spells in my game...thats what it was...why did that happen to me if you say she techinically could??

I think every disk is different...like the guy who said his theifs cant use crossbows in another forum...its jsut weird

Possibly. Because I am absolutely sure Nalia got to cast Timestop in my ToB game.

Hey, thanks for the replies. After leaving Saradush I headed over to Watcher's Keep. I'm on level 1. Why do I have this awful fealing I'm going to get my clock cleaned, lol. It is really nice though to be playing through for the first time, not knowing what's coming around the next corner. Certainly gets the heart racing, that's for sure.

you will get your clock cleaned...trust me
