You can summon Imoen, but I don't think you can give him a piece of her soul.

it would be evil, but sadly, impossible. You can't give him imoens soul. I'm pretty sure you can't use the strands of fate until you've restored sarevok.

But even if you had Imoen in your party already, there's no dialouge option for it.

You can certainly use Imoen for that purpose. And there is a dialogue option for it.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can use Imoen for that purpose without having her in your party first. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're absolutely correct. There's no way to get at Imoen's soul if she's not in your party.

So to get at her soul, logic says you must first get her in your party if it isn't already.

Happily, Sarevok is a patient fellow, and will let you wander around the Pocket Plane for a bit before you restore him.
