I just got to ToB for the first time, and Anomen just hit level 21 cleric. I thought he was supposed to start getting HLAs now, but he hasn't! I checked the manual, and according to the chart he should already have two (lvl 20 and 21). I had trouble installing the patch, so I am running patch free right now, is this something that was fixed? Thanks!

Depending on what you pick I think they come as spells. I choose Fallen Deva for Jaheira the first time and it showed up in her spell book...same thing happened with Anomen with another HLA I choose for him. What really sucks is when you have a Mage and you select an extra 8th level spell and they don't have any slots yet! LOL I did that with Airee and now have to wait for her to level up.

You misunderstood me. The button for choosing HLA's in the level up screen is grayed out, even though I should be able to pick them.

Gotcha...my bad...

I figured it out, and if I'm right then it is just another inconsistency of the manual: characters get their HLA's after thier level at or above 3 million xp. I figured this out when my PC ranger just got his whirwind attack at level 18, though according to the manual he should have gotten it at level 20. Thanks anyway!

Note: now I have to undo that shadowkeeper change with Anomen's spell list :( [img]tongue.gif[/img]
