1) when you call any NPCs you want from the first game, (assuming you've imported and finished SoA) do the NPCs you summon have all the decent gear you gave 'em, or do you have to get it off them before you defeat Irenicus and put it in your bag of holding (if you've got one)?

2) Can any character gain the new feat/ special ability thingies, or only your pc?

3) I've heard Sarevok kicks ass. IS this true? If he does, should I replace ANY fighter from SoA for him?

I think that's all... any help appreciated...

You can do two things, load the save "Final Save" in SoA, kill Irenicus again, and then the game carries on into ToB IIRC. Or you can load up ToB, and click new game and then import game, or import game. Then import the save "Final Save" to get all your party, and all their stuff.

Every character who levels past a certain level gets HLA's (Higher Level Abilities).

I never used Sarevok for long, but he is a frontline melee fighter. Depending on your playing style depends if you want to take him. If you want to take him for a bit, then realise you don't like him, you can always drop him off at your Pocket Plane and pick up someone else

1. When you defeat Irenicus, the NPCs that were with you continue on to ToB, even if they died. However, if they died, you need to pick up their equipment, or else it'll be gone. The NPCs that you summon will not have the items you gave them before AFAIK. I'd guess that the equipment would be gone since it's a different code that they NPCs are summoned under.

2. Yes, but they can only pick from their class special ability pools.

3. He's awesome. However, it does not mean that you should replace any fighter with him. Who do you have in mind of replacing with him? Sarevok if probably the best NPC fighter in the game, however.

Well my SoA party consists (currently in chapter 3) of a PC Thief/Mage dual classed, 12/13, Keldorn with the nice goodies from Firkraag, Valygar (corthola blade and celestial fury :D , Viconia pumped with everythign and anything, sir anomen and edwin. I was considering dropping Valygar, but he's amazing fighting with his current weapons- having said that I dont want to drop Keldorn because he wields the Casomyr, even though him and Sarevok have the same fighting style. I can't really afford to drop another cleric...

The beauty of this game is its fabulous replay value. I suggest you keep the current party... it looks pretty good and it would be a shame to change it now... and play again with a different party, this time replacing someone like Minsc with Sarevok.

Really? You mention both Viconia and Sir Anomen. How much Cleric power could you need?

Well I just had a thought... I'm going to start SoA with:
Keldorn- Primary Tank
Valygar- Backup tank/ primary tank
Viconia- Healing and tank
Aerie- Healing and back up mage
Mage/Thief- Main mage and thieving

It's only a five man party, something I've never tried before, but I had the thought that if I just add Sarevok to that party in ToB, I'd have three healers because Valygar would gain druid/cleric spells... am I right here or does the Stalker kit stop that? *finds manual* Hmmmm doesn't mention Stalkers not having Druid spells, just says they can't wear better than studded leather armour, and have a small selection of Mage spells. Wow didn't know that, can they cast spells while wearing armour or is that the same as mages?

Ok better sum that up:
1) Can Valygar as a Stalker gain healing spells, and therefore at higher levels (say 26 upwards) become like a 3rd healer of my party for ToB?

2) Can stalkers cast mage spells while wearing armour?

3) Whats the best studded leather armour in the game or shall I just keep his Corthola armour?

I can tell you right now that that party won't work. Think "one of these things is not like the others." Don't worry, the game won't let you progress very far before you discover which one doesn't belong.

All Rangers are capped at Level 3 spells. Therefore, the most healing Valygar will ever be able to do is 3 Cure Medium Wounds per day. Hardly all that impressive.

All spells that appear on the Priest scroll (including a Stalker's Haste, Minor Spell Deflection, and I forget what the third one is) can be cast in any armor.

Many armors made from the hide or scales of certain creatures count as Leather armor. Therefore, I suggest that if you obtain any hide or scales, you take them to a good smith and see if anything can be made from them. There are also many suits of ready-made Hide and Leather armors in the game--try them out and decide for yourself which is "best."

yeah I know Viconia doesn't fit... but i want to do her romance. I know Keldorn goes nuts and attacks her... but isn't there a way to stop this? If not I'll have to do the boring Aerie romance and have Anomen or something... unless I went evil myself.... well my character is chaotic good...
