Okay, I woz strolling around BG, I decide to go into that bar, elfsong. I go up to the barkeep, order a few beers to find out some rumours. After my fifth beer, the shop screen closes and THE BARKEEP TURNS INTO A GNOLL!!!!! It may be a bug, as it didn't look like a spell and it didn't register on the bar thing down the bottom. Anyway, I'm standing there and this Gnoll starts whacking me with its halbred. Has this happened to anyone else?

lol thats new to me I haven't ever heard of anything like that happening

I think your character had too much to drink...

Uhhhh......say WHAAAAT???
That would be a really cool little Easter Egg in there, if they really put that in. Too bad I'm in the middle of some intense BG2 action right now, or I'd try to corroborate it myself. Anyone else out there in BG city or about to enter it? I never would have found that out myself, as I never have my guys drink, except maybe once in a while to roleplay. But that'd be a neat little thing for the programmers to toss in. (Best possible scenario: Killing the gnoll doesn't result in a Rep. loss, he just turns back into the Bartender and you get kicked out until you're sober.) |
Doesn't sound like a bug, more like an easter egg.
A bug would normally crash the game, or freeze the screen, or something like that. |
I tried this and nothing happened, except that Kagain could drink twice as much as anyone else before he got drunk. I wonder if class, race or charisma plays any part in the outcome?
Here's a toast to our first 100 posts - CHEERS :D |
I noticed how you said that your characters had five beers...well there is your problem. I hope they were the ones having all the beers and not you :D Most likely what you experienced (if you were not drunk yourself) was an easter egg...most bugs would make the game do something weird like crash..which did not happen in your case.
