I am currently in Bathazar's city where I am in need to get through the gates. Now the thieves have already cleared out aswell as Saemon Havarian (sp.?)The only other option that I understand is to force my way through the gates and kill the guard captain. So I began to fight the guards must have killed about 100 went through all their stuff but I can't find a key.Is the captain somewhere else?

You have to go through the cave, the one in which there was a lich, the one with graves. You should have gotten the key from Saemon Havarian.

You can still get in to the stronghold via the Lich cave, just find and disable traps on all the coffins along the platform around the back. Most of them just pop you back out on the platform somewhere else, but one of them should get you in. I don't think you need Saemon's key, because going in his way leads to another (spoiler...)

Also, if you go the fight-your-way-in route, it's the Monks in front of the gate you need to kill, not the mercenaries (which I'm assuming from your use of "guard captain"). Most of the Monks just drop a pile of gold, but one will drop a Sword as well (to make his pile stand out from the others). Check that pile for the gate key.

O.K. I did not get a key from Saemon Havarian and he's gone. I have already killed the Lich in the cave, disarmed all the coffins although I am unable to open the one without the key. I also have killed all the monks in front of the gate aswell as the mercenaries no-one had the key, I went through all their stuff 10 times.Whats next??

Ctrl-j across the gate to the other side, then walk into the stronghold. It's not really cheating if you killed all the guards and the key simply isn't there. Or, you could shadowkeep or CLUA the key into your inventory. I don't know which key it is, though.
|
I've never used ctrl-j before but it simply did nothing. Is there something I missed. Thanks

for cntrl-j to work, you'd have to first enable cheats. (someone will be along shortly to explain how to edit your Baldur.ini file and do this, or just search and find the answer.)
But if you enable cheats, you'll also have access to CLUA to import the key you need, if you like. |
There is one more legitimate way to go about it. Go up through those stupid ladder-homes again and talk to the people living next door to where Marlowe was. You might learn something.
[ADD]You should ask the local Innkeeper about the town's inhabitants, I seem to recall that he knowssomething about the couple living up there.[/ADD] [ 10-04-2004, 06:20 PM: Message edited by: SixOfSpades ] |
