I was reading a posting about using cheesy tactics based on limitations of the games AI when I remembered a news item about problems with airport security...
Apparently there is a screening crew at the airport scanners, but they are not allowed to accost people. That is the job of a guard that stands just beyond the screeners so he can catch suspects as they leave. Due to budgetary constraints there is only one guard per security area. That guard is not allowed to leave the security area because that would leave the entry unguarded. Which means that if someone dashes by the one guard, no one is allowed to chase them. The guard must call for assistance, which can take a few minutes, and tell them which way the guy was running when they last saw him.
If I ran into this situation in BG I would smile and wonder why the programmers couldn't create scripting for the guards that was more realistic!
