Hi all - I am seriously bummed.

I was 2/3rds of the way through the Throne, and my computer crashed. I'm not sure if this is doable, but if anyone could email their 'location' files (the files that the program creates to track your particular stats, etc), I would be very happy! Not too keen on replaying such a long game, when there are so many other good games to try

My email is hogger1972@yahoo.com. Any other suggestion welcome!

Thanks!!

Mike

Did your Hard Drive completly crash or can you still boot into Safe Mode ? (to boot into SAfe mode keep tapping F8 while your computer is starting up)

If you can boot in to safe mode you can backup your Save files to a disk.

Then format reinstall your OS, reinstall BGII ToB and then copy your save files back in.

If you have already formatted then your pretty much outa of luck. Some one here could email you their save files but then you would be getting their party not yours.

Yup - the hard drive crashed completely. If anyone out there can send me their save files, that'd be great - not my party, but at least I would finish the game!

Thanks for the help

Start a new game, will be borin untill your party is good again , but its worth it as half the fun in BG is replayability! Play a different party for instance or as different char

just want to say welcome to IW ;)

Replaying is the best part of BG.

I suggest you do that.

I suggest that you find a good hacker. Even though a hard drive crashes, It is still possible to retrieve the data and save it to a disk

an old, old trick is to remove the drive and put it in a zip lock bag. then, carefully, stick it in your freezer for a coupla hours. hook it back up and restart your rig. this is purely a temporary measure for retrieving important info and there's no guarantee how long it will work... little as a few minutes or possibly several hours.
