When I finished SoA I was as I created myself, neutral. Now, in ToB I am neutral evil. I picked up Sarevok in the pocket plane, did this cause the alignment change?
|
no, the change would happened in hell when you got the tear's of bhaal..
There are two routes to each tear, a good one and an evil one, if you do the evil your alignment changes, if you do the good one it stay's the same. |
Well,, that's kinda bogus. I feel certain that my choices weren't overtly evil. I sacrificed MY stats when I could have burned Viconia. I didn't accept the nymph skin cloak. The other 3 choices didn't seem to make a difference. Would someone give a choice walkthru, please? I'm not going back, because of role-playing considerations, just want to know.

FEAR TEAR (the Nymph cloak) Good: Immunity to +1 weapons or less Evil: +2 CON
SELFISHNESS TEAR (sacrifice for companion) Good: +10 resistance to magic Evil: +2 to your AC GREED TEAR (the Blackrazor sword) Good: +2 to all saving throws Evil: +15 to HP PRIDE TEAR (the dragon) Good: +20% resistances to fire, cold and electricity Evil: Gain 200,000 experience WRATH TEAR (Sarevok) Good: +1 to WIS and CHA Evil: +2 to STR The one you probably failed on was either the WRATH TEAR (shouting at Sarevok and killing him) or the PRIDE TEAR (killing the dragon). Ahh well. |
True, the test of Pride is the easiest to "fail," especially for a Cavalier.
Cavalier- "My character is one specialized to kill Dragons! There is a Dragon in this cave! Oh, but not all Dragons are Evil....I know! I'll toss up a Detect Evil and see what happens!" Cavalier- Detect Evil Dragon- Evil Cavalier- "Ah-HA! *HAVE AT THEE!!*" |
LOL, the good rewards kinda suck. How many times have you EVER been hit with a regular weapon, +2 to strenght is WAY better then +1 to charisma and wisdom, except for maybe cleric.

Great fun :D |
say you are an evil character.
if you take the evil path, does your alignment change to good??? |
It should, as I would assume variables would be set to the answers, the variables would then correspond to the alignment.
|
No, I would guess that it wouldn't... Like Degrader said, I imagine variables are assigned... And then a tally is done to determine where the character's alignment goes. As choosing the evil path is in accordance with evil alignment, I wouldn't expect a change. It wouldn't make sense to just have the character's alignment go in reverse just for choosing the evil path... But rather shift towards evil or, if there, do nothing.
