After installing "Throne of Bhaal" I find (again) that the "whats-his-name appears busy. Can not initiate dialoge" problem in multi player mode ruins the thrill of Baldur's gate.
Now, to add insult to injury - when I try to find a patch for this it turns out it's only available in 8mb size. Which is a problem since I neither have a) access myself, through friends or other facilities to any medium that takes more than 1.4mb (i.e. floppy disks) b) nor can I download programs that allow me to chop up it up in more sizeable pieces (only having access to internet through uni). Any good suggestions how to solve this is welcome. At the same time you're welcome to send I-don't-like-you-very-much mails to BioWare for not providing smaller patches. On another note: nice to be here - and I'm usually in a better mood than this Eric |
Think think think.. There's no smaller patch than that one, but you could try and reinstall the whole game and cross your fingers that the "X appears busy" bug won't appear. Otherwise.. I wouldn't know. Getting cable and CD writer always is a good option ;)

Get a stack of floppies and use winzip (if your uni dosent have winzip or a close equivalent, transfer to a university that has entered the 21st century, or at least the last '90s) to make a multi-spanned archive aross multiple disks.

Got it fixed, the local library to my surprise has made the jump to the 21st century that the uni havent made and actually got a cd writer
