just wondering if anything special is supposed to happen after I've killed Gromnir?

can i find Melissan anywhere?

No. Melissan should teleport there when you kill him. If she don`t it must be a bug.

Quite often one of Gromnir's lackies will panic and run down the stairs. All of them have to die before melissans appearance is triggered, so have a look around downstairs.
