-   -   (Spoiler) Anyway to rest during final battle? (http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20114)

So, the first time I ran through ToB I entered the final battle with a party that just wasn't strong enough and got my backside soundly kicked. I did the game a second time, though, making better choices during character development and all, and felt pretty good about my chances as I entered the Throne of Bhaal with a level 40 sorcerer, a level 27 Sarovok, and level 26 Imoen. Sure enough, I found the first three incarnations of Melisan (sic?) to be easy enough and I have successfully destroyed two of the "essence-gathering" nodes.

The third node, though, and the Fallen Solar that guards it, is giving me fits. Last night, I tried unsuccessfully for the fourth time to destroy her and the two Marilith Demons that help her. I really thought I would get her, as I cast time stop, improved alacrity, aimed four reduce magic resistances at her, and then hit her with an imprisonment spell. Even still, she somehow resisted the spell and proceeded to turn my team into bloody mush with her damnable long bow.

I am going to keep trying, as for the sake of my ego I really want to finish the game without resorting to cheats. My big concern is that even if I do manage to defeat the Fallen Solar, my supply of spells will be so depleted that the final incarnation of Melisan will wipe the floor with me. So, the question becomes, is there anyway to rest and replenish my spells while inside the Throne of Bhaal?

You can`t rest but you can use the Endless Spell Strategies.

isn't there some goodie which makes it as if you had rest or was this on Ascension only?

It is not Ascension only. It is called... Wish spell. But you have to be lucky.

If you have a wish spell/scroll and potions of insight, drink the potion and then cast wish, it'll increase your chance of getting what you want.

Quite true what Lord says here. It IS the final battle after all so why the hell should you still cling on to all those potions, wands and other miscellanious equipment you still have? Throw in everything you've got, and perhaps you will succeed where you thought you wouldn't.

that battle is WAAAAAAAAY harder than Melissans 4th incarnation. you might try the tactic i use on nearly all the tougher battles, which is through a spell caster into the middle of the battle buffed with protection from magical weapons and, perhaps, spell trap(dont remember if theres a spell caster in that battle). this way they will all concentrate on the spellcaster, while you can attack the solar.
