i was wondering if anyone could point me to a resource that describes the relationship betwen INT and the number of spells a mage can memorize. using the DoMT, i increased a mage's intelligence by one, but she didn't gain any new spell slots. does intelligence merely increase the # of spells she will get on subsequent levels?

Intelligence is for the number of spells you can memorise, not number of spells you can cast.

And yes, you did nail the problem. Intelligence only alters the MAXIMUM number of spells that can LEARNED per level (and in TRUE D&D also decides the highest level of spell that character can cast... not implemented in BG Series). Any intelligence of 19 or above will let you learn every single spell in the game. The higher the intelligence, the better the chance of scribing the scroll. |
