Okay, I keep reading that the red dragon in the Watcher's Keep is easy (the dragon on the level with the nutty man in the machine). If that's true, why am I having such a hard time killing him? He consistently kills one or two people in my party, and I don't know what to do! He casts Spell Turning, so anytime I cast a spell, it hits my party. Can someone help me here? Am I doing something wrong? I summon swords, make Minsc berserk (he ends up going after my people), cast protection spells on my party, and nothing! Argh!

Hm, I tried breach and pierce, but because of his spell turning, it always comes right back at me. When the guide says, "This spell will not protect the caster from dispel magic, however it will not be affected by dispel magic," does that just mean I can take down his defenses, but Spell Turning will still work against other spells? Oi, I'm very confused.

Woo hoo! Thanks for the advice, teardropmina! I did what you suggested and after a few hits by the dragon's wings, my fighters and some summoned creatures brought the dragon down--didn't lose anyone either! Thanks!

Using wands is also an effective way to kill dragons. Like wand of cloudkill...though if i use this tactic i use it together with the ring of the ram and Tansheron's bow or Gesen's bow.

I found tob easir with a solo char cause u hit max lvl very fast. i just used my lvl 24 fighter 20 mage.
timestop + greater ww attack. |
I found him to be quite handy after a few attempts. My party is Me a Lvl 40 Monk and Sarevok who is Lvl 30. I had Sarevok up at the door and then used the Monk to hit Saladrex twice fast and run back behind the arch. I then used a Protection from Fire scroll on Sarevok and used my Crossbow +4 + unlimited bolts on him. He knocked me out and scared me but I juat waited. It was the first time I had to take my monk out of the battle. Sarevok was only getting 3 damage done to him because he had 45 Fire Res. before the scroll. Try and use the arch to your advantage. Hope that helps.
