Solo: including ToB HLA`s. Who do you think is more destructive? F/M/C or M/C?
|
I think you'll find the M/C a tad difficult. It already is a very intensive character and solo'ing makes it even worse.
Anyhoo: F/M/C is easier, but the M/C will eventually be more powerfull, for obvious reasons ... |
Mage/Cleric would be strongest imo, ofc they're useless whent their HUGE list of spells depletes, but that takes all day. You can use cleric spells like holy power or champions strength + things like righteous magic and iron skins if the situation demands a tank. I would save these spells to the last so I could go on a path of destruction before resting. Elven Chain Mail will be your friend later in the game like all dual and multi mages.
If you spec the mage part to anti mage spells and the priest part to buffs and summoning spells then mage/cleric can possibly even rival a sorcerer. |

Improved Alacrity + a lot of spells is better then fully buffed and protected tank (undispellable) kicking ass with FOA + Crom ? Is that it ? |
The big problem with multiclassed chars is their slow leveling. Any multi mage class has to get 6 MILLION XP before being able to cast lvl 9 spells. That SUCKS, since it will take long and it is relatively close to the maximum.
This is even worse for those triple classes, they suck beyond reasoning. |
Leveling won't be a problem, as Xen is soloing. I assume it's on insane and tactics? :D
|
Yes, I agree. I soloed F/M/T and when he reaches 3 mio. XP (all classes together !) he starts getting HLA's. And HLA's kick butt in SOA. ;)
|
You cannot reach 3 million in all classes, the limit is 8 million, excepting ofcourse, when thou used such devious devices as capkillers, which is luunacy in ToB, and it unfairly swiches the favour to the threeclasses.

M/C will indeed be more powerful. Why? Time Stop and Mage HLAs. Using Time Stop, you can obliterate almost anything. It becomes almost sorcerer-like domination after you hit that point.
F/M/C will be more versatile. On the one hand, you will never get Time Stop and similar spells. You can however, cast them from scrolls, dual-wield with more proficiencies, and get warrior HLAs such as the unbelievable GWW. They're actually fairly different classes: with a M/C, I would advise bombardment from afar, akin to a sorcerer. A F/M/C should be master of buffs. |

And yes, when you play with Tactics and Insane I don't mind XP cap removers. Ever played Ascension on Insane ? :D |
