What my quesion is, is that this was the first time he lvled since i got ToB. should i gotten HLA points before this lvl, either for mage or for cleric? i dont want to get cheated any HLAs cuz i got ToB after they reached the starting lvl. Thanks for any response.

No, that's usually when multiclassed characters get HLA's. Each dual classed character gets an HLA when they reach 15th level, so you're not getting cheated. When your mage advances another level, he'll get an HLA as well so you don't have anything to worry about.

You should have 3 HLA's at this point - One for every level-up in either class beyond a total of 2 950 000 XP, the same as for single-classed characters that is. Meaning that you should've gotten one when your Mage hit lvl 14 at precisely 3 000 000 total XP, another one when your Cleric part hit lvl 15 at 3 150 000 XP, and the third one when the Cleric part hit lvl 16 at 3 600 000 XP.

Hmmm, you both are saying different things. This was the first time i have lvled with either class since i got ToB, and so i though i should of gotten HLAs earlier, so i figured when the Abilities button was active, i would have 2 points to put in, not just one. huh, can anyone very how many HLA's i should have by now?

And also, my cleric had scribe scrolls and Alchemy active to choose, meaning i could of chosen them. is this a bug? it had each listed twice (scribe scrolls and alchemy) and they werent greyed out, i could choose them. Could this be because i also have a f/t in my party whom i created, and something went wrong and gave me her HLAs too?

Yup, rataxes is right. But you got tob after they reached the starting lvl ... XP-cap remover ??

daan 04-26-2003 03:37 PM

Ehr .. does your C/M suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder ?
If not, I think some MODs/ third party stuff is creating a bit of a mess ( either XP cap remover or something else )

correct dan, my m/c has completed a SoA game before, then i imported him into a new game with exp cap remover. the exp cap remover should of been uninstalled, but im not sure. i have installed:
SoA
ToB
ToB patch
ToB Baldurash
Item upgrade
EoU
Sola

Im not sure if i still have bonus merchants in there, could that be a problem? i doubt it, but its worth a guess.

Is there anyway to get my HLAs that i missed? and which ones did i miss? one mage and one cleric?

daan 04-26-2003 05:37 PM

Bonus Merchants wouldnt have screwed that up I think .. you imported your character with the XP-cap remover and began leveling up again, above the SoA cap. The problem with that is that you probably installed ToB *after* that.
XP-cap removers generally work with HLA's if you install ToB before you install the XP-cap remover, but I'm guessing you didnt.

As Rataxes stated, you should have 3 HLA's by now, while you only have one.
All you can do now is use Shadowkeeper to add 2 more HLA's -cleric and/or mage-...

Hmm.. that was kinda my mistake so i think ill leave it like it is. ill have plenty of lvls to get the HLAs i want ;)

i only want
</font>
  • Deva - Got it</font>
  • Dragons Breath</font>
  • Improved Alacricy</font>
  • Planetar</font>
the rest i can do without.

Meh! i just lvled with my mage exp, and something really wierd happened.

When i clicked on Abiliies, none of the mage HLAs were active (they were greyed out) except the one where you get an exra 6th lvl spell. After a few min i realized that was because i dont have lvl 9 spels yet, so i cant get those, as they count as lvl 9 spells. The wierd thing was, i had Cleric HLAs that were able to be selected, all of them except the Devas because i allready chose that. PLUS, i had alchemy on there two times, and Create potion on there two times. Even wierder, Use Any Item wasnt on there (which is a pre-requisite for those), and i dont have UaI (im not a rogue or bard) but those ones were still active. its really wierd. This a common bug??
